The Medical Emergency Fund is much needed to help cover emergency medical expenses for the people who live at the Mainpat Refugee Camp in India.
Whenever there is a serious medical issue at the camp, the money donated here will be available to cover the expenses and allow medical assistance to the person in need.
Lama Tulku Tsori Rinpoche was able to donate thousands of mosquito nets to the residents of Mainpat, to try and eliminate the malaria epidemic in the very poor and remote Tibetan Refugee Camp. All families, seniors, children are now protected from Mosquitoes in their homes. This was possible through the generosity of our many sponsors. It was a blessing and helped the camp to control Malaria.
*** MALARIA is a mosquito-borne infectious disease of humans and animals caused by eukaryotic protist microorganisms. They first infect the liver, then act as parasites within red blood cells, causing symptoms that typically include fever and headache.
Dentists have visited Mainpat to provide dentistry to the residents. For many, this was the first time they received any dental care.
Each year, several groups of acupuncturists go to Mainpat and Nepal to treat the residents against a wide variety or diseases, pains and discomforts.
Veterinarians have traveled to Mainpat and vaccinated hundreds of dogs agains rabies.
